Dr Cassia Kessler

Dr. Cassia Kessler is a Specialist Consultant Cardiologist with a keen focus on heart failure, heart transplant, inherited cardiomyopathies, and advanced cardiac imaging.

She graduated with honors from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil before completing her Specialist Cardiology training at the esteemed National Institute of Cardiology, where she also pursued a fellowship in echocardiography. Dr. Kessler further specialised in heart failure and transplantation at the renowned St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney.

Dr. Kessler holds a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is a member of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. She also holds certification as a cardiac CT specialist from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.

With a strong commitment to research and medical education, Dr. Kessler is currently a PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales and the prestigious Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. Her research focuses on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and cardiomyopathies. She has an impressive track record in cardiac research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals. Additionally, she serves as a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales and a clinical lecturer at Macquarie University, where she actively trains cardiology registrars, junior doctors, and medical students.

Dr. Kessler's professional roles include working as a heart failure specialist at the Northern Beaches Hospital and as a Heart Transplant Staff Specialist at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. As a general cardiologist, she provides comprehensive care to patients with various cardiac conditions, including ischaemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, advanced heart failure therapies, pre-operative cardiac risk assessment, and women's cardiology.
