Dr Michael Parkinson

General & Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Parkinson is an esteemed interventional Cardiologist born and riased in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. He completed his Bachelor of Science (Physics) and pursued a post-graduate Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Sydney.

Following his physician training at Royal North Shore Hospital, Dr. Parkinson underwent specialised cardiology training within the Central Coast and Northern Sydney health networks, leading to his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. To further refine his skills, he pursued dedicated training in cardiac intervention and the treatment of coronary disease, completing an interventional fellowship at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. Recognising his exceptional abilities, he was awarded the CSANZ scholarship for the UK Interventional Fellowship, which he successfully completed at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. Notably, Wythenshawe Hospital is among the top three busiest hospitals for coronary intervention in the United Kingdom.

In addition to his interventional fellowships, Dr. Parkinson obtained a post-graduate Master of Medicine (Metabolic Health), deepening his passion for the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease. He prioritises patient-centered care, tailoring treatments to suit the unique needs of each individual. Dr. Parkinson has actively contributed to various publications and has presented his cardiac research at both national and international conferences, showcasing his commitment to advancing the field of cardiology.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Parkinson finds joy in playing tennis with his wife and immersing himself in the natural beauty of Northern Sydney and the Central Coast of NSW.
